About

This blog is all about God's grace. It's about living like Jesus. Every day, there is a battle waging within us. The enemy has come to still, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We are prone to fall, but it is as we sin that Christ died for us to make us righteous (Romans 5:8). The wording in this last sentence was messy, but it was meant to be: the idea is that the battle is already won! (Tweet that). So, what is this blog all about then?

As I have said earlier, this blog is all about God's grace. In this world, there is too much information out there regarding God (now you can add my blog to the noise). However, people are focusing on current events, forgetting things like discipleship. Here, I am learning how to be a disciple of Christ. This means I must learn to die to myself and live like Christ. Because this is hard, I have found that God's grace is sufficient for me (2 Corinthians 12:9).

There is something about the grace of God that just won't leave you alone. To find this grace, to learn how to be a disciple, to even learn to love others as Jesus did, we have to be willing to read the Bible. This means that dusty book on your shelf, the one that has been the number one seller for years, needs to be polished off and read daily. We have to live by it. Forget whether you believe this book to be inspired and inherent or not, it is still the sovereign Word of God and needs to be treated with respect. The Bible is God's authority for us, in it we learn to live and love. People have fought over doctrines, all we need is to see the Reformation to prove this point. What is that I'm trying to say; this blog is not here to tell you what to believe doctrinally, that is for your Churches to do. This blog is here for you to glean understand of God's Word and to start and continue your discipleship. This blog is about God's grace, his all-sufficient grace for our lives. To be more Christ-like, which is what being a disciple is all about, we must start with Christ in the New Testament, and God in the Old.
